Syrian-Indonesian talks to enhance economic relations

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Public Works Hussein Arnous discussed with Indonesian Ambassador in Damascus Djoko Harjanto means of developing economic and trade relations between the two countries.

Arnous pointed out that the unfair economic sanctions imposed on Syria prompted the Syrian government to “move eastward”, urging the Indonesian companies and investors to come to Syria and contribute to the reconstruction process and investment.

The minister presented an explanation of the investment opportunities in Syria, pointing out that exhibitions held in Syria, most recently the 2nd reconstruction exhibition come in the framework of preparations to jump-start the reconstruction process in Syria.

For his part, Harjanto said that the meeting comes in order to identify the prospects of cooperation with the ministry, indicating that the two countries have strong historical ties which necessitate that they be developed in all domains.
