Russia: possibility of holding a third inter-Syrian consultative meeting in Moscow

Moscow, SANA- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said on Friday that there is a possibility to hold a third inter-Syrian consultative meeting in Moscow, but its date has not been specified yet, expressing Russia’s willingness to host such a meeting.

In a press statement in Moscow, Gatilov added Russia doesn’t rule out the possibility of holding a third meeting among the Syrian parties, despite of the fact that there is no specific deadline up till now or a timetable.

He indicated that there are daily contacts on this issue, referring to the visit of Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem to Moscow few days ago.

Moscow has hosted two rounds of preliminary consultative meetings between the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic and the delegation of the opposition figures so far, in the first round, the two sides agreed on what is known as “Moscow Principles” while the second round ended with adopting a paper on assessing the status quo item of a Russian-proposed schedule.
