Damascus, SANA- Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed said that Syria which has offered martyrs in defense of the faith, the land and holy places is closer than ever to victory over the Takfiri terrorism.

The minister’s comments came in a speech he delivered during the Friday sermon which he attended at Kiwan Mosque with a number of the participants in the  International Media Conference Against Terrorism which kicked off at the Opera
House in Damascus on Friday morning.

Al-Sayyed pointed out that protecting humanity from terrorism will be achieved only by pride, strength and defense of the true Islam.

In a press statement following the prayer, Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati affirmed that peoples of the European countries which support terrorists in Syria are aghast at the prospect of terrorists returning to their countries and wreaking havoc there.
