AJU honors martyrs’ families and media establishments

Damascus, SANA- On the 70th anniversary of Syrian Army Day, Arab Journalists Union (AJU) honored on Wednesday about 70 families of Syrian Army martyrs, a number of the distinguished soldiers and many Arab and local media outlets and establishments.

Among the honored establishments were the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), local newspapers as Tishreen and al-Thawra in addition to Arab and local TV channels such as the Syrian Satellite Channel, Sama, al-Dunia, Talaqi, and the Lebanese al-Alam, al-Mayadeen and al-Manar channels.

During the honoring ceremony, Head of the Journalists Union Elias Murad pointed out national media’s role in revealing the reality of the internationally-devised war waged against Syria at this period, and said that “the journalists are working to convey the truth and the reality of what it is happening in Syria, believing to return Syria as it was”.

Samaher Loho, Member of Board of Directors of AJU in the United States asserted the importance of honoring the martyrs’ families and the army’s injured personnel and the national media establishments that have great role in showing up the conspiracy against Syria and conveying the real image of what is happening on ground to the foreigners.

The honoring ceremony included screening documentary film dubbed” the home defenders” featuring the military tactics and training that the army’s personnel used at the battlefields.
