Homs Governor, ICRC discuss cooperation

Homs, SANA – Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi discussed with Regional Director for the Middle East of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Robert Mardini to Committee’s work program in Homs and prospects of developing and enhancing cooperation in humanitarian work.

Al-Barazi asserted commitment to cooperation with international organizations to help improve the services provided to citizens, particularly services related to health and drinking water, and after the meeting, he told SANA that there’s an ambitious plan being prepared for implementation in cooperation with the ICRC.

For his part, Mardini said that a lot of the ICRC efforts are focused on Syria, and this will continue in 2016 as the funding for operations is available, and that efforts will be concentrated on helping the beleaguered and the most affected civilians.
