Ambassador Haddad, Patriarch Aphram II: Syria and Russia combat terrorism

Moscow, SANA- Syria’s Ambassador in Moscow Riad Haddad affirmed on Monday that Syria and Russia cooperate steadily in combating international terrorism, in contrary to what other countries do in sponsoring terrorism and supporting it with money and weapon.

Patriarch Mar Ignatius Aphram II, who chairs a religious delegation on a visit to Russia, said “We are standing by legitimacy and we call for a strong, unified state, whether in Syria or Iraq against this fierce attack that targets Christians and Muslims alike.”

At a press conference, the Patriarch affirmed that Russia’s support to Syria in military and political domains bears hope to the Syrian people, adding that Russia plays a positive role in order to prevail peace in Syria and gather all sides to the table of dialogue.
