Kerry: Discussions with Russia about Syria serious and constructive

London, SANA – US State Secretary John Kerry said the discussions between Russian and American diplomats about suspending combat activities in Syria have been serious and constructive so far.

Upon his arrival at London on Friday, Kerry said that everyone is aware of how complicated this process is, but the discussions have been serious and constructive so far, with a few difficult issues that have yet to be resolved.

He said that agreeing upon models for suspending combat activities in Syria is a very technical process that is full of details, so the teams from the two sides are still working on them.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had said on Wednesday that implementing the agreement reached by the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) in Munich on February 12th regarding suspending combat activities is now up to the readiness of the United States.
