Winners of SANA’s most prominent national poem honored-Video

Damascus, SANA- A number of poets who won the Syrian Arab News Agency’s competition for the most prominent national poem were honored on Tuesday in a ceremony organized at the Arab Cultural Center in Abu Rumanneh, Damascus.

According to the results of the committee, the poem of Fayed Abdul Jawad Ibrahim came first with 277 points out of 300 while the poem of Ahmad Ibrahim Saleh ranked second by acquiring 253 points and the poem of Feras Ferzat al-Qattan ranked third with a total of 251 points.

SANA Director-General Ahmad Dawa said that the aim of this competition is to shed light on our poets who recited poems praising the struggle of the Syrian Arab army and its scarifies against the terrorist war waged on Syria.

He pointed out that SANA, by organizing this activity, wanted to contribute to enhancing the Syrian civil identity.

Deputy Information Minister Ma’an Haider and Dawa presented the awards and the certificates of appreciation to the winners.

In turn, Ibrahim, the first winner, said that his poem was about the martyrs, expressing hope that his poem and the poems of the participants would reach the Syrian Arab Army personnel.

The second winner, Saleh offered his winning to the soul of his brother who was martyred defending the homeland.

Al-Qattan, who was the third winner, said that he wrote his poem, aspired by Syria’s steadfastness in the face of the enemies.
