Damascus, SANA-Head of the Higher Judicial Committee for Elections (HJCE) Hisham al-Shaar said there is a wide turnout among citizens to submit nomination requests or get familiar with the documents needed ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections in several provinces.

In a statement to SANA, al-Shaar said the nomination committees in the provinces are committed to providing all facilitations for citizens, adding that the committees are receiving nomination requests until 8:00 pm every day.

Earlier in the day, HJCE posted the numbers of the telephone and Fax on its website as to make it easy for citizens to communicate.

The telephone number is 663 3625 and the Fax number is 661 4821.

Submitting the official nomination requests to the elections of the People’s Assembly for the 2nd legislative term started Wednesday, February 24th, 2016 and lasts until the first of March, including the days of Friday and Saturday.

The Decree No. 63 of 2016 set Wednesday, April 13th, 2016 as a date for electing members of the People’s Assembly for the 2nd legislative term.
