Syria, Cuba discuss enhancing joint cooperation

Damascus, SANA-Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halaqi discussed on Monday with Cuban Ambassador in Damascus Rogerio Manuel Santana Rodriguez the mechanisms to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries, mainly in medical, economic and trade sectors.

Al-Halaqi called on the Cuban companies to establish investment projects in Syria in all fields, especially in the pharmaceutical industry and to contribute to the reconstruction stage.

He pointed out that the Syrian government is seeking to rehabilitate the health and pharmaceutical sectors and procure the different kinds of medicines such as cancer drugs and vaccines that the Syrians need from friendly countries, mainly Cuba.

Premier al-Halaqi wished success to the Cuban Ambassador in his tasks, affirming that the Syrian government will offer all the required facilitations that will contribute to developing the bilateral relations between Syria and Cuba.

For his part, Rodriguez expressed his country’s support for Syria’s people and leadership in their fight against terrorism, adding that Syria’s victory will be achieved soon.
