Premier al-Halaqi visits an army unit in northern Lattakia

Lattakia, SANA – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Prime Minister Wael al-Halaqi visited one of the army units operating in the northern countryside of Lattakia province.

The Premier conveyed President al-Assad’s greetings to the soldiers and his appreciation of their heroism in the course of the battle against terrorism, stressing that thanks to the soldiers’ bravery, Syria will achieve victory over the terrorists.

Later, al-Halaqi who has been on a business trip in Lattakia, met a number of owners of small and micro enterprises in the province, hailing their efforts and determination to continue work against all odds.

He also toured Bradon Dam in Rabiaa area in Lattakia countryside, which is being rehabilitated after sustaining damage due to terrorist acts. The dam supplies water to the villages in al-Haffeh and Rabiaa areas.

After inspecting the rehabilitation works in Rabiaa area and Qastal Maan village to ensure the return of displaced people as soon as possible, the Premier also visited Ballouran Dam.

On Saturday, al-Halaqi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of a number of development projects worth SYP 20 billion in Lattakia province.
