Ban Ki-moon: Progress regarding crisis in Syria can only be achieved through dialogue

Moscow, SANA- Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon asserted that only dialogue and a collective effort by the international community, with Russia as a key member of this community, can be the way forward to settle the crisis in Syria.

In an exclusive interview with TASS on Wednesday, Ban said that the situation in Syria remains of extreme concern to him and is far from resolved, but increased cooperation between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry has had a positive impact.

He stated that international resolution no 2254 is an important element for driving all the parties to move forward and to achieve the Syrian people’s aspirations.
