Damascus, SANA – Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Adib Mayaleh issued on Tuesday Decision no. 692 allowing importers to import and bring into the country all types of cellular phones that have the Global Positioning System (GPS) after getting prior approval from the regulatory body for the telecommunications sector.

The law will be effective as of its date of publication on 06/09/2016.

Last month, the regulatory body for the telecommunications sector informed the Economy and Foreign Trade Ministry of its consent to the terms of the decision.
