The 18th International Scientific Conference on Dentistry wraps up activities

Damascus, SANA – The 18th International Scientific Conference on Dentistry wrapped up its activities with lectures on the application of stem cells technology in dental treatment, untreated periodontal diseases and restorative & cosmetic dentistry.

In a statement to SANA on Monday, Chief of the Syrian Dental Association, Fadia Deeb, described the conference as “successful” despite the limited number of participating dentists who came from Iraq, Yemen, Egypt, Palestine and Tunisia because of the current circumstances.

Regarding the scientific innovations and dental inventions presented at the conference, she said that a committee was formed to evaluate them and announce the first three winners.

Deeb added that the digital technology has offered great added value for the conference in terms of live video streaming of lectures by foreign professors.

She indicated that the number of companies which participated in the exhibition reached 60, noting to the facilitations provided by the government to import the equipment to be showcased which in turn helped break the economic siege imposed on the country.
