Mikdad receives credentials of charge d’ affaires of Nigerian Embassy in Damascus

Damascus, SANA- Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad received on Monday the credentials of the charge d’ affaires of Nigerian Embassy in Damascus, Adamu Ibrahim Lamuwa.

During the meeting, Mikdad discussed with Lamuwa bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, Syria and Nigeria and the importance of developing them in all fields.

Mikdad affirmed the need for cooperation between the two countries in political, economic and counter -terrorism fields, noting to the importance of boosting bilateral cooperation to fight terrorist organizations, particularly ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, Boko Haram organizations and other terrorist organizations which coordinate their criminal acts in Syria, Nigeria and other countries, with the support of known sides that finance, arm and shelter them.

He affirmed that Syria condemns the criminal acts carried out by Boko Haram organization in Nigeria.

For his part, Lamuwa hailed the deep bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that he came to Syria to enhance these relations and develop them.

He also stressed his country’s condemnation of the terrorist acts in Syria and the need to unify the international efforts to eradicate terrorism and dry its sources.

The new charge d’ affaires conveyed his country’s serious desire to implement the agreements signed between the two countries, particularly in trade and economy.
