6 meter-long Christmas tree lit up in Tartous amid atmosphere of joy

Tartous, SANA- Amid an atmosphere of joy and Christmas songs, Cathedral of Our Lady of Annunciation in Tartous on Sunday evening lit up a 6 meter-long Christmas tree.

During the ceremony of lighting up the tree, Bishop Antoine Chabir, Patron of the Maronite Diocese of Lattakia,  expressed hope that happiness and peace will prevail Syria.

“We pray for God to protect our beloved homeland and our brave army and President, and we pray that Christmas will bring happiness and amity to the hearts of all the Syrians,” Bishop Antoine said.

One of the supervisors of lighting up the Christmas tree, Engineer Maha Rizq said that the purpose of lighting up the tree is to embody the atmosphere of happiness, wishing the peace and security will prevail Syria.

For their part, the attendees expressed happiness, wishing that peace and security will return to every inch of the Syrian territories.

They highly appreciated the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army to protect the homeland.
