Damascus, SANA – The Syrian film “Mariam” won two awards within the activities of the Silk Road International Film Festival which wrapped up on Monday in the Chinese city of Xi’an.
The awards are the Critics Award and the People’s Choice Award, with the latter based on a poll that included filmmakers, journalists and audience.
Mariam was one of three Syrian movies which participated in the festival, among 100 films representing around 30 countries.
Besides the two new awards, Mariam already has 5 awards to its name. Those included the Prize of ElDakhla Film Festival in Morocco, the Golden Award of Wahran Film Festival in Algeria and three other awards from Muscat International Film Festival.
