Syria, Russia: United States of America keeps stealing national resources of Syrians

Damascus, SANA_ The Syrian and Russian Coordination Committees on the Return of the Displaced Syrians have affirmed that the United States and its allies continue their destructive interference in Syria’s internal affairs.

In a joint statement at the conclusion of a video conference held at Ministry of Local Administration and Environment  in Damascus on Thursday, the two committees pointed out that Washington keeps stealing the national resources of the Syrian people and directly impede the recovery of Syria’s economy.

The two committees called on the United Nations to pressure the United States so as to withdraw its forces from the Syrian al-Tanf area, end the catastrophe of the displaced Syrians trapped in al-Rukban Camp and to facilitate their return to their areas which have been liberated from terrorism.

The committees said that the efforts exerted by the Syrian state and Russia have helped hundreds of thousands of displaced people return to their liberated areas and they contributed to rendering health and education services to the returnees.

The committees’ statement pointed out that the Syrian state, in coordination with international humanitarian organizations, continue to provide assistance to the residents of the al-Hawl camp in Hasaka countryside where they have been suffering very difficult humanitarian conditions.

The statement indicated that tens of thousands of children are left in this camp without any kind of care as they are vulnerable to extremism and need to be saved from this suffering.

Those children, according to the statement, are suffering while the United States and its allies keep interfering in Syria’s internal affairs, looting the national resources of the Syrian people and hindering the recovery of the Syrian economy.

The statement condemned the US attempts to foil the intensive efforts being exerted by Syria and Russia to help the internally and externally displaced Syrians return to their areas.

During the joint video conference, Minister of Local Administration and Environment Hussein Makhlouf reviewed the procedures adopted by the Syrian government to guarantee a safe and voluntary return of the displaced Syrians and to provide them with all requirements of dignified life.

He stressed that work continues at an accelerated pace in order to facilitate the return of the displaced Syrians.

Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, in turn, confirmed that the Syrian state, in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and some UN organizations, has provided all facilities and humanitarian, medical and relief assistance to the returnees in the makeshifts and places of their residence.

He called for dismantling of the camp and allowing the remaining in it to return to their homes.
