4.2 magnitude earthquake strikes off coast of El Salvador

San Salvador, SANA- A 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of El Salvador in Central America shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, without causing material damage or casualties.

Tremors were felt in the capital, San Salvador, and no deaths or damage were immediately reported, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Authorities in El Salvador did not issue a tsunami warning.
