Army achieves strategic breakthrough by controlling Deir al-Adas in Daraa

Daraa, SANA – The Syrian Arab Army established control over the strategically important area of Deir al-Adas in Daraa province on Wednesday as a part of a broader military plan to clear the area of terrorist organizations and agents of the Israeli enemy.

A field officer told SANA that Deir al-Adas is strategically important as it was considered a base for terrorists from which they carried out their attacks on Damascus and its countryside.

The swift advance of the army was a result of a number of elements, on top of which was the locals’ rejection of terrorists, and many defense groups of the locals played a significant role along with the military units in eliminating large number of terrorists and forcing other to flee the area.

Establishing control over Deir al-Adas, Deir Makir, al-Danaji and its surrounding hills is of special importance as these areas link each of Damascus Countryside, Daraa, and Quneitra, which in turn means that all plans made by the terrorists’ operation centers in Jordan with the supervision of intelligence agencies from Israel, USA, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, France, and Turkey have been frustrated.

The new advance scattered the terrorist organizations in Syria’s southern region and made their supply lines from Israel and Jordan longer and less direct than they were before.
