Syria Mod Spring-Summer 2015 concludes with high positive expectations

Beirut, SANA – The Syria Mod Spring-Summer 2015 exhibition for textile industries and garments, held in the Beirut International Exhibition and Leisure Center (BIEL), concluded its activities on Wednesday.

The event’s organizers expect that the exhibition, which saw the participation of around 120 Syrian companies, will be successful in introducing Syrian goods to new markets and will result in signing new exportation contracts, in addition to confirming that Syria is beginning to recover from the crisis.

Syrian businessman and industrialist who specializes in men’s clothing Samir Rabatta said that the exhibition in Beirut contributes greatly to exporting goods and local products to neighboring markets, pointing out that there is great demand for Syrian products in those markets due to their excellent quality.

He noted that such exhibitions helped him export products to several Arab and foreign countries despite the current situation in Syria and the embargo imposed on it.

Firas al-Jaja, the secretary of Damascus Chamber of Industry, said that the exhibition included new booths for leather products, decorative trees and plants, and arts, with the aim of giving visitors the opportunity to get to learn more about Syrian products.

Samir al-Shami, a member in the Syrian Exporters Federation for leather products and clothing, said that Syrian leather products have a good reputation, affirming that Syrian leather products are exported to countries all around the world.

The exhibition was opened on Monday, covering an area of 3500 square meters. It is organized by the Syrian Exporters Federation for Clothing and Textiles in cooperation with Damascus Chamber of Industry, Damascus Countryside Chamber of Industry, the Exports Development Agency, and the Syrian Exporters Union.
