Palestinian popular unions stage a stand calling for lifting sanctions on Syria

Damascus, SANA- The Palestinian popular institutions, unions, organizations and factions staged a stand in front of the UN Headquarters in Damascus to show solidarity with the Syrian people.

The unions called for removing the embargo and unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria, and providing support for the Syrian people in order to confront the repercussions of the quake that hit the country.

In a message, the participants called on the Secretary-General of the UN, to shoulder his responsibilities at the Security Council, UN General Assembly and all humanitarian institutions to lift siege and unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria

The participants called upon all countries and international institutions to break this unjust blockade, and to take immediate actions to help Syria in confronting the quake disastrous repercussions

‘The Palestinian factions in Damascus called on the International Community to assume its responsibilities in lifting the embargo on Syria, and to condemn the immoral acts of US regarding the devastating earthquake hit the country, and its continued illegitimate sanctions and plundering the Syrian oil’, a member at Political bureau of the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine said in a statement.
