Designing and Monitoring Medicine, a Workshop at Tishreen University

Lattakia, SANA- Faculty of Pharmacy at Tishreen University in Lattakia held a quality control workshop on Designing and Monitoring Medicine.

The workshop, which was held on Wednesday in cooperation with the Lattakia branch of Pharmaceutical Syndicate and the Faculties of
Pharmacy at the Private Universities of Al-Andalus and al-Hwash, shed light on the latest developments in designing, manufacturing
medicines, the new methods in analyzing and monitoring Syrian-made medicines.

The workshop included a number of scientific researches in the field of manufacturing medicines.

The workshop aims at benefiting from the expertise of the participants in the scientific and knowledge fields and enhancing cooperation between the pharmacists and the scientific research
centers at the faculties of pharmacy and universities, Head of Pharmaceutical Syndicate, Lattakia branch Dr. Feras Basma said.

The importance of the workshop came from that it concentrated on the quality of the Syrian medicine and the role of the Faculty of Pharmacy through the Master’s researches it conducted in addition
to reviewing what is new in designing and manufacturing medicine and supervising it through the use of the most sophisticated analysis
methods, Head of the Organizing Committee Dr. Nohammad Haron said.

Deputy Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy for scientific affairs, Dr. Rimal Asa’ad pointed out that the workshop highlighted problems facing health sector in Syria due to the crisis plaguing the country and acts of sabotage perpetrated by terrorists against a number of medicine factories, smuggling non-monitored medicine in addition to the
deterioration of the medicine industry in Syria.

Dr. Asa’ad added that the workshop highlighted the role of pharmacy Faculties in upgrading the medicine industry and supervising medical productions.
