Daraa governor discuses with ICRC delegation health situation in the province

Daraa, SANA – Daraa governor Mohammad Khaled al-Hannous discussed on Monday with Elizabeth Patterson, health coordinator of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and her accompanying delegation the health situation in Daraa and the possibilities to deliver medical aid and offering needs for every area in the province.

Al-Hannous said that 4 out of six governmental hospitals and 32 of out 95 medical centers in the province went out of service duty due to terrorist attacks in Daraa, adding that ICRC had set up new plan for providing aid to citizens following Busra hospital went out of service due to terrorist attacks.

For her part, Patterson pointed out that the delegation’s visit aims to evaluate Daraa’s health situation and discussing a plan for supporting its public hospitals in cooperation with Health directorate and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC)through the ICRC plan to help civilians who were affected by the crisis in Syria.
