MODATEX exhibition a chance for marketing the Syrian product at home and abroad

Damascus, SANA-The amount of the Syrian exports has achieved an increase of 8 percent in 2014 in comparison with 2013 and during the first and second quarters of 2015 the exports increased by 10 percent in comparison with the same period last year, Director-General of Exports’ Development and Promotion Commission Ihab Ismandar revealed on the sidelines of MODATEX exhibition currently held at Damascus-based Dama Rose Hotel with the participation of 60 local companies and many businessmen.

He asserted that the current conditions became better for the Syrian factory because the government was and is still offering the required administrative facilities to transfer the facilitations into safe places.

One of the participants in the exhibition, Imad Mawad, said that such exhibitions are very important due to their role in opening new prospects in front of the Syrian products, adding that holding such exhibitions is evidence on the recovery of the Syrian industry.

Industrialist Samer Rabata, for his part, pointed out to the efforts exerted by the Syrian Exporters’ Federation and Exports’ Development and Promotion Commission to support the Syrian product to be present at various exhibitions.

Another participant, Mohammad Mahfouz, said that the Syrian products began to restore their export prominent position at international markets.

Maher Haikal asserted that the reason which has given the Syrian industry a momentum forward is the absent of the Foreign goods while other participant, Baraa Skeif clarified that the exhibition is a chance for the industrialists to communicate with each other and meet large number of producers and traders.

Despite targeting the Syrian facilitations and stealing them, the industrialists managed in cooperation with the government to rehabilitate them and produce again many goods, participant Haitham Khudari said.

For his part, chairman of clothes’ committee at the Syrian Exporters Federation, Akram Qanout pointed out that as a result of the crisis, a large number of Factories were transferred from the countryside to the city, however they continue their production.

MODATEX Exhibition, specialized in the fashion and leather goods, is organized by the Syrian Exporters’ Federation, in cooperation with the Exports Development and Promotion Commission, the Chamber of Industry of Damascus and Aleppo Chamber of Industry.
