Russian coordination center: Cessation of hostilities agreement violated by terrorists four times over past 24 hours

Lattakia, SANA-The cessation of hostilities agreement has been violated four times over the past 24 hours in Damascus countryside, the Russian coordination center in Hmeimim said in a statement on Monday.

Units of Jaish al-Islam terrorist group fired mortar shells at the positions of the Syrian army in Damascus countryside, the statement said.

The agreement, which came into effect on Feb 27 was generally observed during the past 24 hours, said the Center.

The agreement does not cover ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and other organizations designated as terrorist by the UN Security Council.

The number of Syrian areas that have joined the cessation of hostilities in the country has grown to 145, according to the statement.
