7 citizens killed, 24 injured in terrorist bombing and rocket attacks in Homs, Damascus

Homs/Damascus, SANA – Seven civilians were killed and 21 were injured on Sunday in a terrorist car bomb attack in Homs city.

A source in the province told SANA’s correspondent that terrorists detonated a Dacia pickup truck rigged with explosives at the main street of al-Arman neighborhood, which is a crowded street with heavy traffic and pedestrian activity.

The source said the terrorist bombing claimed the lives of seven civilians and injured 21 others, some of them in critical conditions, in addition to causing massive damage to private properties, houses, shops, and cars.

A source at the province also told the correspondent that terrorists also fired two rocket shells on the city, with one of them hitting a house in al-Zahra neighborhood and injuring two civilians, while the second hit Mohsen Abbas school, causing no injuries or deaths.

Two children, aged 5 and 10, were killed by mortars that terrorists fired on Beitima village in Qatana area, Damascus countryside.

A source at the Police Command told SANA that two mortar shells that terrorists fired landed in Qatana area, killing two children and inflicting material damage.

In Damascus city, two civilians were injured by two mortar rounds fired by terrorists.

A source at Damascus Police Command told SANA’s correspondent that the first mortar round fell in al-Hal market in al-Zablatani area, injuring one civilian and causing material damage, while the other round fell at the outskirts of al-Abasiyeen neighborhood, injuring one civilian with shrapnel.

Also in Damascus, terrorists launched a mortar shell on al-Maysat area, injuring a civilian and causing material damage.

A source at the police Command told SANA that the shell caused light injury to a woman and caused material damage to six cars in the area.
