Syria, South Africa to enhance transport cooperation

Damascus, SANA- Caretaker Minister of Transport Mahmoud Ibrahim discussed Thursday with South African Ambassador in Damascus Shaun Byneveldt means of developing cooperation between Syria and South Africa in all domains, particularly in the transportation field.

During the meeting, The Minister expressed the desire of the Syrian side to cooperate with the South African State, as Syria will witness reconstruction process and make use of the South African Republic in the field of maritime transportation to help increase the capacity of receiving all kinds of big ships at the Syrian ports.

He affirmed that Syria welcomes any support by South Africa, whether in proving the loans for reconstruction and developing infrastructure or in offering vocational experiments to boost performance of airports and railways.

For his part, the Ambassador underlined his government’s big interest in sharing the process of rebuilding in Syria and offering all available assistances through giving addresses of some specialized companies.
