Aleppo governor, FAO representative discuss joint work to farmers’ needs

Aleppo, SANA – Aleppo governor Mohammad Wahid Akkad discussed Thursday with representative of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Syria, Eriko Hibi, fields of joint work and plans aim at providing the farmers and livestock breeders with their needs.

The governor called on the organization to rehabilitate some affected agriculture foundations as they have positive results on citizens’ lives.
Akkad affirmed the governorate’s readiness to offer all support in delivering aid to people in need.

For her part, Hibi said that the goal behind her visit to Aleppo is to inspect the damage in the agriculture sector and its infrastructure and specify its needs in the current stage.

She hailed the cooperation offered by Aleppo governor in offering all support and needed information.

Hibi pointed out that the organization has set a number of projects, in cooperation with Agriculture Ministry, that need fund with USD 43 Millions, but the donors offered only USD 7 millions, which affected implementing the projects.
