Syrian Olympic football team continue training for international participation

Damascus, SANA – Syria’s Olympic football team will resume training camp tomorrow Sunday in preparation for participating in Indonesia camp where they will play the Indonesian Olympic team in two friendly matches.

The two matches will be held on February 10 and 14. The Syrian team is scheduled to travel to Indonesia next Saturday.

The Olympic team will also hold a training camp in mid-March to prepare for AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification tournament. Syria is in Group 5 along with Uzbekistan, India and Bangladesh.

The camp will see the Syrian team playing the Singaporean counterpart in friendly matches, which are originally scheduled for March 21 and 24.

However, the team’s coach Muhannad al-Faqir requested from the Singaporean counterpart to reschedule the camp’s date and set it in late February so that the Syrian team can go to Singapore right from Indonesia camp.
